Day 1
The first night of this trip we will spend in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. The estate is home to many wild animals such as giraffe, zebra, diversity of antelopes and many more. When night falls the occasional leopard or hyena patrols the area. After your arrival and meeting with your Wild PhotographiX guide you will have the rest of the day to settle in and explore the wildlife estate with your guide.
Day 2 & 3
The morning is for your leisure; enjoy a sleep-in, relax by the pool and simply observe the by-passing animals at your lodge.
Later on we will leave Hoedspruit and are on our way into one of the Private Game Reserves bordering Kruger National Park. You will experience the ultimate safari life: close animal encounters, following cats off-road through the bush and luxury accommodations. In the afternoon we head out intothe African bush on an open safari vehicle. Scouting for animals and enjoying the sounds and smells of Africa’s nature. We will stop for a sundowner in the middle of the African Bush watching the sun set andnight unfold. We head back to the lodge in the dark hoping to get a glimpse into the nightlife of the predators…
These two days you will tune in with the rhythem of the safari life: we will head out intothe bush twice a day and enjoy our beautiful lodge between drives.
Day 4-6
After one last morning safari in the private reserve and a heartful breakfast we will leave our lodge and make our way to South Africa’s
most iconic national park: Kruger National Park. Our home for the last three nights of this trip. The advantage of the national park: we can stay out during the day as long as we wish & together with your Wild PhotographiX guide you will plan your day as you wish.
Day 7
It is time to say good bye to Kruger. We are en route to St. Lucia for the last part of your trip. In the late afternoon we arrive at our destination. The hippo capital of South Africa. The bulky animals can be seen wandering the streets at night in search of grass.
Day 8
The next day we explore the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Not only is iSimangaliso South Africa’s very first World Heritage site since 1999, it is also the third largest protected area in the country.
The Eastern Shores section hosts elephant, rhino, buffalo, crocodile, hippo, hyaena, leopard – and many species of smaller game.
By lunchtime we will reach Cape Vidal. The resort is set in a bay that is sheltered by a rock reef. On either side lie kilometers of unspoiled beaches; inland lie fascinating wetlands and rich coastal dune forests. Humpback whales migrating north to Mozambique pass close to the shore at certain times of the year. Often one can spot dolphin pods. Between October and March, endangered loggerhead and leatherback turtles use the beaches to lay their precious eggs.
It is a rare beach-and-bush destination… the best of two worlds and ours to explore.
Day 9
Our last day we end off with an absolute highlight: we head out onto the ocean to see the gigantic Humpback Whales! The whales migrate this stretch of coastline between mid May to mid December each year, to calf and breed in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Moving as far as Mozambique before making their journey back to the Antarctic. You may be fortunate to witness a 40 ton acrobatic Humpback breaching a mere 50 meters from the boat!
In the afternoon we walk through the town center before we enjoy a boat cruise on the St. Lucia Estuary to view the hippos and crocodiles & watch the sunset.
Day 10
The following morning your Wild PhotographiX guide will transfer you to Durban to catch your flight back home.
